Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to RosterRocket! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RosterRocket mobile application ("App," "Service," or "RosterRocket").

By downloading, installing, or using RosterRocket, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

RosterRocket is a roster management application for iOS that enables organizations to:

  • Create and manage work schedules and shift rosters
  • Automatically generate fair rosters using intelligent algorithms
  • Track employee hours, leave, and compliance
  • Sync data across multiple devices via cloud storage
  • Send push notifications to staff about roster updates
  • Generate reports and export data

3. User Accounts and Roles

3.1 Account Types

RosterRocket has two types of user accounts:

  • Manager Accounts: Create rosters, manage staff, publish schedules, and access all features
  • Staff Accounts: View assigned rosters, acknowledge schedules, and update personal profile

3.2 Account Registration

To use RosterRocket, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years of age
  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials (PIN)
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

3.3 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Managers are responsible for managing staff access and ensuring appropriate use of the App within their organization.

4. Subscription and Payment

4.1 Free Core Features

The following features are FREE for all users:

  • Publishing rosters
  • Creating unlimited staff accounts
  • Auto-award scheduling
  • Firebase cloud sync
  • Push notifications
  • Basic reports
  • Staff login and access

4.2 Premium Subscription

Premium features are available for $4.99/month with a 7-day free trial:

  • Advanced analytics
  • PDF export
  • Email integration
  • Advanced reports
  • Custom branding
  • Extended history (>12 months)

4.3 Payment Terms

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly through Apple's App Store
  • Payment is charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
  • No refunds for partial months or unused portions of the subscription

4.4 Free Trial

New premium subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial period ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial without charge.

5. Acceptable Use

5.1 Permitted Use

You may use RosterRocket for lawful business purposes related to workforce scheduling and roster management.

5.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Upload malicious code or viruses
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or other users' data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Share your account credentials with unauthorized users
  • Use the App for any illegal employment practices
  • Scrape, mine, or extract data using automated tools

6. Data and Privacy

6.1 Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you input into RosterRocket (staff information, rosters, schedules, etc.). We do not claim ownership of your data.

6.2 Data Use

We use your data solely to provide and improve the Service. See our Privacy Policy for detailed information about data collection and use.

6.3 Data Backup

While we sync your data via Firebase, you are responsible for maintaining backups. We recommend regularly exporting your data using the CSV export feature.

6.4 Data Accuracy

You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of data entered into the App, including staff information, hours worked, and roster assignments.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Rights

RosterRocket, including its design, features, code, and content, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your internal business purposes, subject to these Terms.

7.3 Restrictions

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our written permission.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations

8.1 "As Is" Service

RosterRocket is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Accuracy or reliability
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation

8.2 Labor Law Compliance

RosterRocket provides tools for roster management but does not guarantee compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, or collective bargaining agreements. You are responsible for ensuring your rosters comply with applicable laws.

8.3 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Damages resulting from use or inability to use the App
  • Damages from errors, bugs, or data loss

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RosterRocket, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the App
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Your employment practices or labor law violations

10. Service Availability

10.1 Uptime

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The App may be unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Emergency repairs
  • Third-party service outages (Firebase, Apple services)
  • Force majeure events

10.2 Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time with or without notice.

11. Termination

11.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

  • Deleting the App from your device
  • Canceling your subscription in App Store settings
  • Contacting us to request account deletion

11.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
  • Fail to pay subscription fees
  • Pose a security risk to the Service or other users

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your access to the App will cease immediately
  • Your data will be deleted from our servers within 30 days
  • You will not receive refunds for unused subscription time
  • Provisions that should survive termination (e.g., indemnification, disclaimers) will remain in effect

12. Third-Party Services

RosterRocket integrates with third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google): Cloud database, authentication, and notifications
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management
  • Apple App Store: Distribution and payment processing

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.

13.2 Arbitration

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.

13.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in class actions or class arbitrations.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Posting the updated Terms in the App
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date
  • Sending a push notification (for significant changes)

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. General Provisions

15.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RosterRocket.

15.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

15.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

15.5 Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, war, pandemics, etc.).

17. Apple-Specific Terms

As RosterRocket is distributed through the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:

17.1 Acknowledgment

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and RosterRocket, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

17.2 Scope of License

The license granted is limited to a non-transferable license to use the App on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by Apple's Usage Rules.

17.3 Maintenance and Support

RosterRocket is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide support.

17.4 Warranty

Apple is not responsible for any warranty claims. In the event of failure to conform to warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund, and Apple has no other warranty obligation.

17.5 Product Claims

RosterRocket is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal compliance, and intellectual property infringement.

17.6 Third-Party Beneficiary

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
